Rothenburg o. d. Tauber and Nuremberg

Three years ago, we went to Franconia for a two day trip to Bamberg and WΓΌrzburg. Last weekend we repeated that idea. This time we went to Rothenburg and Nuremberg.

People say that Rothenburg is one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Germany. So it is not a big surprise that there are incredible numbers of tourists (mostly from Asia). I personally thought that Rothenburg is nice but for some reason I was not too impressed. Or maybe it was just the gray weather. No idea.

However, I was totally surprised how nice Nuremberg is - so far I only knew the town from a conference. I loved the town and was totally fond of the area close to the river. So big thumbs up from my side!

Rothenburg

Day one, pretty dull weather at first, then rain. Exactly what you want…

The next morning, the weather was super clear and we had a spotless sky. However, we've seen everything and decided to set off to Nuremberg. Those pictures where shot when heading to the railway station.

Nuremberg

I do not have many pictures of Nuremberg, as I was busy recording short movie clips with my iPhone. (Lately I am testing a bit of movie making as an upgraded version of the photo hobby or as an alternative…) For some reason I totally forgot to take pictures with my other camera… Luckily, I took at least some in the super nice St. Lorenz Kirche.
