Little Big Urlaub am Gardasee

Read more

Norwegen: The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly

Read more

Madrid & Toledo

The other day we went to Spain for a few days to see Madrid and Toledo. That was not a bad decision as it turned out. Unfortunately, it was “a little” cold and windy and the town was IN-CRE-DI-BLY full. Day 1 The first thing we did after arriving in downtown Madrid was to get “bocadillos de calamares”, which are rolls with breaded/fried squid. It’s a pretty cheap snack that you can buy anywhere in town, and - from what we’ve heard - locals and tourists love it. Read more

Two Museums With Old Stuff in Munich

Yesterday I noticed that I have not yet blogged any pictures from my visit to the two museums at Königsplatz in Munich. I did that back in December, but I’m going to catch up now. These pictures are also the first I took with my new Sigma 30mm f1.4. It’s a lot of fun to play with the extreme depth of field. The 16mm equivalent was ordered a bit later. Read more

Mallorca Reloaded

Two years ago, we went to Mallorca for the first time and thought it was an excellent spot for some hiking. Since then, there was not much traveling possible thanks to Corona - except some shorter trips by car or train. As the situation is a bit better at the moment, we thought it was possible to repeat the last “real” vacations and decided to fly back to Mallorca. (Palma airport) Read more

South Tyrol vacation number four but - surprise - this time not in Schenna/Meran but in Kaltern! I think Kaltern is a quite decent spot for a one week hiking holiday as you can do about 6, 7 hikes starting directly in town. If you want to stay longer, you’ll probably find yourself driving around as your hiking options are depleted… Kaltern → Around the Lake → Kaltern Komoot Link Read more

Bavarian Forest

Another short hiking vacation: this time in the Bavarian Forest, where I have not been before. We spent four days in the world-famous metropolis of Lam, which consists almost exclusively of hotels, guesthouses, inns, etc. The whole area seems to have not much industry and infrastructure except tourism. Also, the towns are all rather small and not very interesting. By far the largest city in the region is Deggendorf, which is not a destination of longing, as I know it from many, many, many business trips. Read more

Bicycle Tour in the North of Munich

As someone who works in the north of Munich, I recently figured that I do not know the area at all. So I changed this by having a nice trip by bike from my home town through the northern Munich region. Well, I guess, this is one of the mostly known things that we have in Munich. 🌍 Picture location East of the Allianz Arena, there is a vast heathland, the Fröttmaninger Heide. Read more
